Are you sick of being no more than just another follower? Do you want to be in control of your career? You don’t have to be a CEO or a manager to be a leader! Being a leader isn’t exclusive to just one person.

To become a leader, follow these steps:
1. Define your goals: Map your objectives out clearly, because successful people are those who are insightful and can set clear goals.
2. Act fast: Don’t always wait around for orders or decisions from your manager. Add your own ideas and be creative and learn how to develop your contributions.
3. Planning: setting a path for career growth and for your personal endeavors will make you feel in control of your time, effort and life. Set an organized strategy for every goal you wish to achieve.
4. Good manners: Honesty, morals and fairness are among the most important traits in a leader. Stay away from dishonest practices and cruel sentiments when you deal with people at work and in your personal life. Avoiding nonsense can also give you more room to think about things that really matter and will make you more amiable.
5. Confidence: Self-confidence is important and by no means does that mean you don’t make mistakes. In fact, making mistakes and taking responsibility for them will make you more experienced.
6. Persistence and challenges: choose the more challenging and adventurous path, as difficult as it may be, in order to make your goals and ambitions a reality!
7. Sharing: Share your ideas, perspectives and plans with others. Surely, sharing will widen your horizons and add to your knowledge.
8. Set an example: You must be a role model to which others look up. However this requires actions, not words. Through your successful deeds, you can certainly become a role model.
9. Weak points: Take some time to identify your weak points and quickly start working on overcoming them. Don’t ignore them!
10. Optimism: Take a positive perspective because pessimism will only hold you back. Optimism will take you where you want to be. Remember, being a leader means you’ll often face struggles, but you must always be calm and patient.
